What is a Brain Lab?
Brain Labs are free live conversations where we take an experience from everyday life and look underneath it through the lens of neuroscience. They are designed to help you understand what may actually be happening in the brain and nervous system, without turning that understanding into another list of things you “should” be doing.

Your brain isn't static, and neither is your capacity. The way you think, focus, cope, feel and respond can shift enormously depending on what life is asking of you.
In this free live Brain Lab, we'll explore how the brain adapts through stress, motherhood, hormonal shifts and different seasons of life, and why strategies that once worked for you may suddenly stop fitting. We'll look at changing capacity, attention, emotional regulation, cognitive and sensory load, neuroplasticity and the nervous system, bringing the neuroscience into the reality of everyday life.
This isn't about finding another way to optimise yourself. It's about understanding why your brain may feel different at different points in your life, and what changes when you begin working with that rather than constantly expecting yourself to function in the same way.

Read Soulful Neuroscience
Longer thoughts on the brain, motherhood and real life.
On Substack, Naianna writes more deeply about the ideas behind Soulful Neuroscience, from neurodivergence and the nervous system to motherhood, attention, identity, capacity and the strange complexity of being human.
Some pieces begin with research.
Others begin with something happening at home.
Usually, they meet somewhere in the middle.
Start with what catches your attention.
